I have previously tutored with the Higher Education Opportunity Program in the Bronx, and with the Tutoring Club of Stamford. I was also a preschool teacher and after-school teacher at The Reading Team in Harlem. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading. I took a course taught by Esther Sands called How to Teach Reading through The Reading Reform Foundation. Last year I worked as a special education tutor at Danbury High School. I currently work as a 6th grade tutor and teacher at a charter school in Bridgeport. I love tutoring because I like working one on one with students. I find it is the best way to make sure that their individual needs are addressed. It is important to learn a student's individual learning style, and this cannot always be done at school.
