Hobbies

I love to teach, you can see on a student's face the moment when he/she "gets it". I have tutored ESOL through Literacy Volunteers, helped my daughter and her friends with high school and college work, and I started working with my neighbor's daughter in 1st grade - she is now in 6th grade and we continue with homework help. Through my past employer I was the training officer for over 10 years, developing and delivering a comprehensive 12 week training program. I believe you learn something new every day and I truly enjoy watching others learn. I love math, I just get it! And science is so exciting. I started my academic career with aspirations of being a forensic scientist. I completed my math/science associate's degree and realized I loved the work I do in public safety and wanted to continue in this field. With this in mind I continued my education by receiving a bachelor's in Management, minored in criminal justice, and a certificate in forensic accounting. As well as I just completed my Master's in Public Administration. It is never to late to learn! I love to help young people learn new concepts, especially in math or science although I am very competent in writing as my academics required me to write several papers.
